Raw to Thumbnails

Create a Zip file of RAW images and send it to our FTP server or copy your Images to a CD or DVD and send them to us. We will convert, correct and create thumbnails from the images and send them back to you via FTP, CD or DVD.

Use these images to create your order in ROES. They are linked to the Hi-Res images at the lab which will be substituted for the thumbnails when the lab receives the order.**

Because of the small image size, this method allows for very fast image manipulation in ROES and sending the order transfers a text file only.

Very Important! The thumbnail images are imbedded with Hi-Res Image links and must not be altered by changing their names or by modifications in image editing software.

The proof or print order must be placed within 120 days after receipt of the thumbnails.

Archiving is optional.

North American Photo’s “RAW to Finish” ROES Workflows
NEW Automated RAW to Print now in ROES

North American Photo has a complete line of  RAW workflows. RAW to Print has been improved to allow you to automatically send in your RAW files with your order.

How it Works

1. You will need to have both your JPEG and RAW files in the same folder. The names have to be the same, except for the extension. No modifications should be made to the JPEGs, such as B&W or spot colors, etc. because the RAW converted JPEG the lab generates, will not match the modified JPEG.
2. Open ROES and switch to the RAW enabled work flow using the new button at the bottom of the page (green shield). Click on the button and then highlight and click the selection called “North American Photo RAW Enabled Workflow”. There will be a slight delay as the RAW enabled system loads. The “Tip of The Day” dialog box will reappear indicating the change has occurred.
3. Open a folder of images which contain both the JPEGs and RAW files of the same name. When the thumbnails load into the Images palette, there will be a colorful “RAW” label after the image name indicating that there is a RAW file present in the folder for that image.
4. Use the JPEGs to create your order as you usually do (including options, Pager templates, etc). When the order is completed and sent to the lab, ROES will use the RAW file instead of the JPEG version. When the lab receives the order, the RAW files will be converted and the improved JPEGs will be used to complete the order.

This workflow is intended for those who wish to improve image quality by allowing the lab to convert the images. If you would like a CD with the converted, corrected images, in addition to your prints, see below for all of the RAW options and pricing. If you do extensive editing of your JPEG images, continue to use the normal non-RAW workflow.

Raw to Hi-Res

Create a Zip file of RAW images and send it to our FTP server or copy your Images to a CD or DVD and send them to us. We will convert, correct and create Hi-Res JPGs from the images and send them back to you via FTP, CD or DVD. These images must be archived. ** See Service charges below.

These Corrected Hi-Res JPGs can be used just like digital camera files. Images you plan to do art work on should use this workflow.

Hi-Res images can be used to place orders through ROES or LabPrints.
